Skagit County has numerous fishing opportunities throughout the many rivers, lakes and streams open to fishing. From Whidbey Island saltwater fishing and famous Pass Lake to the upper flows of the Skagit River and Sauk River, Skagit County offers great fishing opportunities. The Skagit River, the San Juan Islands, The Cascade and Sauk Rivers, fly fishing on Pass lake and more are all easily accessible and open at different times throughout the year. In Mt. Vernon and Sedro Woolley there are popular public fishing access spots along the Skagit River and Samish River. Skagit county offers steelhead fishing, salmon fishing, trout fishing, bass fishing, saltwater opportunities and more!

The Skagit River and it's main tributaries, the
Sauk, Cascade, and
Baker rivers in Skagit County see good returns of
salmon and steelhead. With seasons open almost throughout the
entire year, the Skagit River system provides steady angling
opportunity.
Many of the fishing lakes in Skagit
County are stocked periodically throughout the year with
catchable size trout. Several lakes, such as
Lake Campbell
near Anacortes include Triploid trout, or large
hybrid trout in the 1-1.5 pound range.
