Not much fishing to do in Whatcom county (or all of Puget Sound) lately. Give it 'til August when Fraser runs start coming in. Does anyone know if the closure affects Baker lake? All of it's tributaries are closed but they didn't come out and say it was as well.

Good question. I'm pretty fuzzy on what all is affected. Such a buzzkill though to not have any rivers or streams opening up soon...

I recall reading somewhere that Baker Lake WAS part of any general shutdown, and would have to be reauthorized by NMFS along with anything else. If it turns out to be included in a limited, late-season opener after everything else has been shut down for much of the summer, it might be a good idea to go get in line at the launch right now!

It doesn't appear to be listed as one of the lakes that are closed though. Maybe it's not included.

I am still around, more or less laying idle (as we all are) hoping for some kind of season on river fishing around here.

There has been a pretty sizeable demand for a good chemist around here. I'm glad to see at least my thread still has a pulse despite our closures. You guys are alright in my book.

I'm still alive. I recently moved out of Whatcom County and bought a place two counties a way, sadly. I will be hitting my old Whatcom stomping (skunking?) grounds come fall time.  I guess I haven't had much to contribute fishing-wise in the last 6 months.
However, I went clamming yesterday in my favorite clam spot (which will remain secretive like my blackberry spots).  I knocked the shit out of the butter clams.  That's my contributive fishing report.
