In this area, Pink Salmon only return every other year with the exception of one Washington river which sees even year returns as well. Once Pink Salmon emerge from the gravel, they migrate very quickly to the estuaries where they continue to rear. They spend a total of +- 1 and 2/3 years in the salt where they reach maturity.

So, in odd number years we should see them coming back to the rivers somewhere abouts July/August.
We said there warn't no home like a raft, after all. Other places do seem so cramped up and smothery, but a raft don't. You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft. Huck Finn

Mykiss nailed it.  Generally, humpy fishing will be better on the Stilli or Skagit than the Nooksack but when they are running, they are hard not to catch.

While I have no intereste in chasing them, I'm curious what the "even year" river is?
