Fort Casey
« on: August 09, 2017, 11:30:42 AM »
A couple of buddies and myself decided to pass on the sack and opted for the salt yesterday.  We fished the tide charts from high through low and slack tide .  It was supposed to be one of the best days of the week, but it wasn't.

one coho landed and that was it for the day.  No one else hooked a fish.  We heard from the local tackle shop that a few coho where taken the precious evening.

It sounds like the sack is doing better than where we were.

Good to hear you got down there and tried it. Is it fishing from shore only down there this year?

As of July 31 there are no boats allowed in area 9 (ft. Casey) and Chinook can not be kept, only humpies and hatch coho.  We were going to try Deception pass bridge, that is closed to fishing.  Most likely due to these fish are headed for the Skagit river.

Got it, thanks. I thought I saw something like that but wasn't sure.
