heavy rain cut my hunt short
Don't quit hunting blacktails just because it's raining! Wind and rain get the deer up and moving. I don't think they like all the noise from the wind in the woods so they move a lot more. It's best when it's raining and just a slight wind. I almost always see lots of deer when it's raining. Especially check around the edges of clearcuts at that time.
There's another message board with a thread talking about just this. General consensus is, that guys see/take more deer when it's raining.
Good luck! Post up a pic of your deer when you get it!
