Boat limits allowed during Baker Lake sockeye fishery

Action: Each angler aboard a vessel may continue to deploy angling gear until the daily limit of sockeye has been retained for all licensed and juvenile anglers onboard.

Effective dates: Immediately through Sept. 4, 2012

Species affected: Sockeye salmon

Location: Baker Lake, upstream of the log boom barrier in front of upper Baker Dam to the mouth of Baker River.

Reasons for action: The return of Baker Lake sockeye is expected to far surpass escapement goals. Surplus sockeye salmon are available for harvest.

Other information: All other fishing regulations remain in effect as listed in the 2012/2013 Fishing in Washington sport fishing rules pamphlet. Anglers are reminded to release all bull trout. The two-pole endorsement is allowed for this fishery. The Catch Record Card Code for Baker Lake is 825. Please see the Baker sockeye web page at  http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/salmon/sockeye/baker_river.html for further information on seasons, access sites and fish counts.
